Mike Basich built a chairlift on his Lake Tahoe property back in 2012, and the whole internet lost their minds with envy. You can watch that original video here, or down at the bottom of this article.
Well, it’s been 10 years, and the chair still appears to be running. Basich shared a video on his Instagram page of him riding the chair during a recent snowstorm.
I don’t know about you, but riding endless powder laps in my backyard on a homemade chairlift with my dog sounds pretty damn awesome.
It’s good to know that the best backyard chairlift I’ve ever seen is still running. I’m almost kind of surprised that is. I wonder how much maintenance he’s had to put into that thing over the last decade.
I have a dream of building my own chair someday, but then again, don’t we all?!
