The Unofficial Networks guys were reminiscing earlier this week about the great Timy Dutton. He passed away back in 2014 during a skydiving accident, and his presence is greatly missed.
While his death was tragic, we smiled and laughed about how much joy he brought with his skiing. That’s when we stumbled across an amazing clip posted by Outside TV from an old Warren Miller movie.
I’ve skipped the clip ahead to get straight the quote, and embedded it below.
It’s an all-time moment, and I can’t believe that I’ve never seen it before. It’s just so perfect.
Check it out:
Tell me that isn’t the greatest skiing quote of all time? Timy is basically saying that your life could be an absolute dumpster fire, but you can forget about all of that shit by going skiing, and he’s right.
I have some follow-ups of modern things you can use skiing to forget about:
- Your crypto/NFT portfolio loses half of it’s value in one hour.
- You see that one of your family members posting Q Anon conspiracy theories on Facebook.
- You realize that Amazon put Alexas in every home in the country to personalize ads.
Well said, Timy, well said. RIP.
