Somewear Labs and Protect Our Winters Partner on Backcountry Giveaway
Donations will enable POW to ensure deep snow for future generations
San Francisco, CA (January 23, 2022) — Somewear Labs, a leader in off-grid satellite communications, is proud to partner with Protect our Winters (POW) to host the Backcountry Giveaway. The lucky grand prize winner will receive a guided, human-powered backcountry adventure for two and a Somewear Global Hotspot to help them navigate and communicate in the backcountry. Second and third place winners will receive cutting edge gear to recreate responsibly this season.
All contributions raised during the giveaway will be donated to support POW in its work to combat the global climate crisis and to protect winter recreation for generations to come. The Backcountry Giveaway will open on Instagram and will run from January 23, to January 29, 2022. Winners will be announced on January 31, 2022.
Since the launch of the Somewear Global Hotspot in 2017, winter backcountry adventurers have come to rely on it’s power and reliability to communicate off-grid and navigate with confidence. These same adventurers count on the return of cold, snowy winters each year for quality recreational opportunities to explore, have fun and disconnect from their daily lives. Somewear Labs recognizes the outstanding work of POW to advance non-partisan policies that combat the negative effects of climate change on winter recreation.
