Cecily Tynan is a long-standing news anchor for ABC6 in Philadelphia, and funny enough, she was one of my first crushes as a young boy growing up in Delaware. Tynan has talked about her love of skiing over the years, and we actually had the same surgeon that fixed our ruptured ACLs. She tore hers skiing, I tore mine playing soccer.

Anyways, enough of my creepy fondness of a local news anchor from Philadelphia. I’ll get to why you clicked on this video.

Tynan posted a video to Twitter just an hour ago showing a long lift line at Jack Frost Ski Area, PA. Jack Frost, and it’s sister resort Big Boulder, are Vail Resorts properties. Tynan made a little quip about the lift lines being ‘epic’ , and my attraction to her grew even stronger.

For context, Jack Frost is a relatively-small hill. It’s pretty easy to fly down the mountain’s 600′ of vertical, and none of the mountain’s 12 lifts are highspeed. I’ve waited in some long lines myself back in the day, but waiting over an hour for that hill probably isn’t worth the wait.

The funny thing is that the skiers in this video HAVE to wait in this line to get back to their cars. Jack Frost is one of those unique mountains that has its parking area and ‘Base Lodge’ at the summit. These skiers are essentially stuck in this line.

Tynan mentioned in here Tweet that the resort is understaffed. No surprise there, and it appears from the resort’s website that only 3 of their 12 lifts are currently operating. That’s pretty brutal for peak holiday crowds.

The epic madness marches on. Thoughts and prayers for all of those stuck in long lift lines today.
