“Moving forward, White Pass Company Inc. will continue to provide family-friendly recreation for winter sports enthusiasts from across the Pacific Northwest. The longtime leadership at White Pass has set us on a successful pathway and we are looking forward to continuing that growth into the future.” -General Manager Rikki Cooper
Indy Pass Partner White Pass Ski Area in Washington has new owners. The Yakima Herald reports that the shareholders of the mountain overwhelmingly approved the sale of the mountain to five local businessmen a couple of weeks ago. These businessmen: Andrew Sundquist, David Severn, Dan Plath, Adam Dolsen, and Patrick Smith, are from the local town of Yakima. They will retain the whole staff, including current General Manager Rikki Cooper, and prior General Manager Kevin McCarthy.
The new owners are acquiring a mountain with a whole lot of snow to start this season off. Significant snowfall in the Cascades recently actually kept the ski area closed on Thursday and today (Friday) due to highways US12 closure. They have a base depth of seventy inches, and a summit depth of one hundred inches. Future plans include doubling the size of the High Camp Lodge, along with adding a new guest services building.
