Snowskates have been around for some time now, but the kind you typically see have a ski mounted on the bottom of a skateboard deck for use at resorts and small terrain parks.
Ambition Snowskates makes a classic skateboard deck fitted with a slippery base that allows the rider to ride it directly on snow. Sounds pretty weird, I know, but just check out the video at the bottom of this blog to see how sick the product is.
I could totally see these catching on in the skateboarding community, the snowboarding community, and even skiers looking for something to have fun on snow with when they can’t make it to the mountain.
These snowskates are definitely not meant for resort use, but I think that’s what makes them so cool. You could easily build some jumps and rails in your backyard, or annoy your fellow townspeople by riding them in urban environments.
I have a very limited skateboarding background, but I just might have to pick one of these up. It looks like too much fun for me not to try it, ya know?
