“I was hell on wheels man, I still am.” -Joseph Dale Jaramillo

Fired up for United States Army veteran and Purple Heart recipient Joseph Dale Jaramillo who fulfilled his decades old dream to jump out of an airplane on his 90th birthday.  Jaramillo served in the Korean War, was wounded in battle and received the Purple Heart.

“I couldn’t hardly move my arm. Even all that, I still saved a guy.”

During his time in the service, he dreamed of jumping out of airplanes for the Army, but unfortunately that was something Jaramillo always had to watch others do.

“I signed up for the 101st Airborne and only weighed 128 pounds. I had to weigh 140.”

This past Saturday, on his 90th birthday, Jaramillo finally got to take the leap at Skydive Utah and successfully touched down from 14,000ft under a black and gold canopy. His response was touching:

“When you’re coming down, a lot of wind is hitting you. Oh my gosh, I want to do it all over again.”

He hopes to take another leap and skydive for a second time on his 95th birthday….HELL YEAH! Huge thanks to Mr. Jaramillo for his service and to all current and former members of the Armed Forces of the United States. We salute you!
