Trail Maps, Backcountry Maps, Ski Maps at Snowshoe

People forget that Snowshoe, WV has a peak elevation of 4,848′. That’s higher than any peak in Vermont!

Snowshoe woke up this morning to a light dusting of snow at the resort’s lodge, and it looks like they could be gearing up for snowmaking to begin soon. Snowshoe is one of a dozen or so resorts across the country that has its lodge and facilities situated at the top of the mountain, rather than at the bottom.

We’ve covered a few of these ‘Upside-Down’ mountains here on Unofficial Networks over the last couple of seasons.

Take a look at the pictures below, and get stoked! It might be just a dusting, but ski season is just around the corner for the Mid-Atlantic, Northeast, and Southeast. Rejoice!
