We sadly lost the godfather of snowboarding, Jake Burton Carpenter, nearly two years ago. I’m sure you already know this, but Jake was the founder of Burton Snowboards in Burlington, VT and evolved the sport to reach mainstream status throughout the latter part of the 20th century.

His impact on snowboarding is monumental. So much so that the way skis are made today are inspired by the twin tip design of his snowboards from back in the day.

A new documentary titled, ‘Dear Rider, The Jake Burton Story’ will debut on HBO on November 9th at 9:00PM ET, and will be available to stream on HBO Max. I haven’t seen any trailers yet (they will be available on October 26th), but I can imagine that an HBO documentary on Jake Burton will be a must-watch for all winter sports lovers.

We’ll keep you updated as we learn more about the film in the coming weeks, but I think it’s safe to say that all of us here at Unofficial Networks can’t wait.
