Hilarious bit of drunken confusion out of Turkey where an intoxicated man decided to join a search party for someone who had been reported missing, not realizing the he himself was the missing person in question.
The Daily Sabah reports 50-year-old Beyhan Mutlu, a Turkish citizen living in northwestern Bursa province’s Inegöl district, was reported missing early Tuesday after his friends and family lost touch with him for several hours.
Mutlu was drinking with friends when he stumbled off into a nearby forest. When he emerged he found an active search for a missing person in progress and decided to volunteer to help. After hours of searching with rescuers calling out Mutlu’s name it finally registered who they were looking for and he announced his presence.
Authorities later gave the “missing” man a drive home after taking his statement.
