Excellent short documentary about legendary polar explorer Will Steger and his mission to inspire a community by preserving the forgotten craft of ice harvesting. Will has been cutting ice in Ely Minnesota since 1967 and uses the old world technology for refrigeration throughout the summer at his off-grid home. Wasn’t quite sure what to expect when I clicked on a documentary about cutting ice in Minnesota but this is the best thing I’ve seen in a while. There are valuable lessons to be learned from our forefathers about sustainability. You betcha.
