If you’ve been living under a rock for the last couple of weeks, you might have missed that Patagonia has pulled all of its products from being sold at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and it’s retail stores. The move comes after JHMR co-owner Jay Kemmerer hosted a political fundraiser for controversial right-wing politicians.

Many were angry considering the likes of Rep. Marjorie Taylor-Greene do not believe in climate change, among other things. Patagonia decided that Kemmerer’s support of those politicians went against their mission statement, and pulled their products from JHMR shelves. You can read more about that story here.

The resort has stayed mostly quiet over the last two weeks, until now.

Seems like JHMR is trying to distance itself from Kemmerer, but I’m not sure that a simple social media post will be enough to ease the minds of some people who seem to be taking this whole thing to heart.

I personally don’t love the fact that JHMR’s co-owner is making political contributions to ultra-conservative politicians that deny climate change, but I don’t think the actions of one man define the entire resort. I’m sure there are plenty of employees at JHMR that are pissed off about what happened in recent weeks.

Sorry to get a little political, but this story is too big to not cover. You can now get back to our regularly scheduled summer content that includes bear videos, mountain bike tricks, and all-around silliness.
