It’s one of my favorite times of the year as a ski blogger. Sure, I get more excited when flakes start falling and I can go skiing, but there’s something special about late-summer into early-fall when brands start releasing ski movies that they filmed last season.
Their purpose is obviously to sell product, but a desirable side-effect of these promo videos is that it gets us all juiced up for the coming season. There’s something about our dumb primate brains that makes us excited to go skiing by watching others skiing. It’s that simple. It doesn’t make a lot of sense when you think of it that way, but it’s just our nature.
