Tow Truck Driver Puts Out Roadside Fire In Montana Using Only a Shovel

You’ve probably seen plenty of news stories and videos of wildfires ravaging the west this year already, but this video is a little bit different.

A tow truck driver noticed a small fire burning in the brush along a road in Montana and immediately began shoveling dirt to squash the flames before things got out of hand. What a hero! This guy could have easily kept driving or just waited until fire crews arrived, but instead got to work and ultimately saved the day.

Thank you for your service tow truck driver, thank you. *salutes*

I was coming back from a tow job and noticed vehicles stopped on the side of the road. I saw smoke to our left and realized that there was a fire in the ditch of a gravel road of Montana Highway 5. I pulled over and fought the blaze with a shovel we keep on the truck.”
