All-time ski racing great Marcel Hirscher retired from skiing in 2019 after 67 wins on the World Cup, and has since taken up the sport of motorbike enduro racing. Unfortunately, Hirscher’s first season has come to an abrupt end. He announced on his Instagram page that he broke his leg in the Red Bull Romaniacs competition this past weekend.
He shared a quick video message to his followers from a hospital bed back home in Austria saying that he hit a rock that broke his leg.
Hirscher has left the possibility of returning next season up in the air pending his recovery. Here’s to hoping he has a quick healing process and he gets back out on the bike as soon as possible!
