A 30-year-old hiker was gored by a bison in Yellowstone National Park last week while walking on a trail, according to A4. The incident is the first time this season that a park guest has been gored by a bison.

Reports say the woman was airlifted to Eastern Idaho Medical Center in Idaho Falls, ID, but her condition is unknown.

Our thoughts are with the injured and we hope she has a speedy recovery.

Reading about wildlife encounters every single day at Yellowstone National Park can be pretty jarring. I’ll admit that I haven’t been yet, and I’m genuinely curious if you have to dodge large mammals at all times?

I mean seriously. There’s a video of a bison, wolf, bear, or other dangerous animal encounter with humans on a daily basis. Seems crazy out there…
