“On April 30th, 2021 I managed to reach the summit of Yawash Sar II, which no one had climbed before, and then I skied down this peak.”
Andrzej Bargiel became world renown for his superhuman high altitude ski mountaineering abilities after completing the first ski descent off K2 back in 2018. Andrzej has been back at in Pakistan…dude just made a first ascent and ski descent of a 20,269ft peak called Yawash Sar II in the Karakoram mountain range of the Himalaya. This dude is truly something special. Watch the video and pick your jaw up off the ground:
“Today, around 11 a.m. local time, I managed to reach the summit of Yawash Sar II, which no one had climbed before, and then I skied down this peak. The descent itself took about 2 hours; It was icy at the summit, ropes were needed. Jędrek Baranowski, who also took part in the summit attack, waited for me halfway. After the summit attack, we skied down to the foot of the mountain together. We are all in BC now, and we are planning to trek back tomorrow. Thank you on behalf of the entire team for the calls and messages. Sorry, please be patient, communication is super tough here, and we couldn’t show you any photographs today. We do our best to do it as soon as possible!”
