Alta Ski Area did not utilize a parking reservation system for much of this season, but it looks like that will change next season.
Alta Ski Area’s marketing director Brandon Ott told a local SLC news agency that the ski area will use a parking reservation system due to the challenges Alta faced with having to turn guests away this season.
Ott talks about the new system at the 2:45 mark of the video below.
The beginning of the video includes a cool story about an Alta legend who has ridden the last chair at the ski area each of the last 30 seasons.
I could see a parking reservation system having pros and cons for Alta. Limiting parking could ease some congestion on the access road, but will surely cause headaches for those who have to jockey for the reservations.
