Swift Current 6, coming winter 2020-2021 – Explore Big Sky

Big Sky Resort announced that they have resumed construction on the Swift Current 6 chairlift that will open for the ’21-’22 season.

The Swift Current 6 will be the fastest six-pack in North America, and will improve uphill capacity by 25% from the current lift.

The lift will travel uphill at a blistering 1,200 ft/min and provide guests with heated seats, and bubble protection on the safety bar.

The Swift Current 6 is part of ‘Big Sky 2055’ in which the resort is taking steps to become carbon neutral. The lift will use a direct-drive technology from Doppelmayr that is more energy efficient.

Big Sky is quickly becoming North America’s most technically advanced resort when it comes to chairlifts.

The Swift Current 6 will join the Ramcharger 8 next season as two of the most technologically advanced lifts in the region.
