Red Bull Raid is the only competition in the United States that blends uphill ski mastery with big mountain prowess.
This year’s event was restricted to Squaw Valley locals due to COVID-19, and 42 skiers and riders competed in sunny spring conditions.
The competition had skiers ascend a route at Squaw Valley with speed, and descend with the most style and skill.

Winners received $500 cash, and $500 to donate to a local business of their choice.
Trevor Semmens and Camile Conrad were crowned champions in the skiing competition. While Garret Cygan and Jenna Shlachter took home top prizes in the splitboarding discipline.

It looks like it was an awesome event with a great turnout. Pretty neat to see skiing and snowboarding competitions happen again.
Here’s to hoping next season is chalk-full of competitions, gatherings, and more all-around ‘normalcy’.
