Utah’s Snowpack Suffering From Weak Base, Similar To Colorado

The Utah Avalanche Center is reporting a fairly weak base in Utah’s Western Uinta range. Notice the similarity to Colorado’s snowpack, it appears a heavy slab is resting on a sugary, unstable base. This report was filmed on 12/27/20.

Stay safe out there, friends. The UAC is reporting that the majority of zones in the state are at a “Considerable” risk for avalanches. This screenshot was captured at 7:40 AM (MST).
