Utah is seeing a lot of snow right now, which is a sharp contrast from the slow start to their season. This means that the backcountry snowpack is very unstable. Because of this, danger ratings in Northern Utah are currently classified as extreme.

On Friday, the Utah Avalanche Center made a trip to the Park City Ridgeline and captured a video of a major avalanche traveling down the mountain. If you’re thinking about going to the backcountry this weekend, please don’t go.
