Switzerland imposed a mandatory 14-day quarantine for all British tourists due to new strain of COVID-19 that was discovered in the UK, and it appears that the Brits weren’t having it.

Reports from the BBC suggest that more than 200 tourists escaped their quarantine at the Swiss ski resort Verbier. The hotel workers discovered that the guests were missing when food service trays were left untouched.

Other guests called back to the hotel demanding a refund once they crossed the border into France.

It’s hard to be too critical of these British tourists. Many of them booked trips to Verbier, and other Swiss resorts, prior to the new strain of COVID being discovered.

However, violating a mandatory quarantine order from a foreign country is never advisable…
