Despite low snow levels, Colorado is currently experiencing dangerous avalanche conditions and with the upsurge in backcountry riders this year due to numerous factors, there is an all points bulletin to travel with extreme caution with an emphasis on newcomers. There have been three deaths in two Colorado avalanches since Friday and conditions could worsen with additional accumulation in the near future:

“People need to recognize we have unusual conditions and their usual practices may not keep them out of harm’s way. As we gain more snow in the coming weeks, avalanches could become even more dangerous.”  Colorado Avalanche Information Center Director Ethan Greene
