Selkirk Powder Company (SPC), the cat-skiing/backcountry guide service located in Northern Idaho, has just announced the reemergence of guided heli-skiing tours.

SPC already goes toe-to-toe with any backcountry outfitter in the region with it’s cat-accessed terrain alone. Bringing back heli-skiing will cement SPC as a heavy-hitter in the industry.

The outfitter took a break last season to focus on ‘new avalanche and snowmobile programs‘, but is stoked to announce a partnership with South Coast Helicopters to bring heli-skiing back to Northern Idaho’s Selkirk Mountains.

Selkirk Powder Company’s heli season will begin on January 28th, 2021. The operation will fly from nearby FOB Granite Aviation at the Sandpoint Airport.

Selkirk Powder Company’s President and Chief Guide, Ken Barrett, stated that they will provide new safety regulations to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.

Unlike most heli operators, SPC will limit the number of guests in each heli for a safer, and more personalized experience. Each heli will be limited to 2 guests minimum, and 4 guests max.

Masks will be required within the heli at all times.
