Struggling with low weekday attendance, many ski resorts across the country are offering opportunities for skiers and riders to rent entire ski hills by the day. For less than the price of a lift ticket at competing resorts, you can ski privately with just the buds. Here are some suggestions for areas where you can team up, and enjoy ski nirvana in uncrowded peace.
Plattekill, NY :
Only 3 hours from the Big Apple, Plattekill Mountain offers one of the best deals for private ski hill rental. If you max out and bring 250 of your friends, everyone could be skiing for a bargain $10 a day. Plattekill offers 4 lifts, and 1100’ of vertical, so bring the keg– this could be the ski party of your dreams.

Bring 249 of your best friends and you could ski Pico Mountain in Vermont for under $25 a day. If you’re looking for more solitude and fresh snow you can still beat the day ticket price by strategically renting out the hill with your buddies. With almost 2,000 feet of vertical and no public crowd; the 468 acres at Pico will all be yours (at least for a day).

Turner Mountain, MT:
Convince your ski buddies to make the trek to North Western Montana and you may be treated to private, cold smoke at Turner Mountain. With an impressively long double chair, steep terrain, and great snowfall; Turner is a top choice for renting a ski hill by the day. The all volunteer mountain will let you take over Monday-Thursday for up to 100 of your best friends at $3,750/day. Bring your own food and beer, and you’re set!

Eagle Point, UT:
If you live in Salt Lake City or Las Vegas, Eagle Point is a unique destination to experience. Rent out the mountains’ 600 acres of playful terrain and you can get a chance to host your own Utah powder party Monday-Wednesday. The ‘As You Wish’ Package allows 200 people on the slopes along with lodging and food; which seems too good to be true.

Riding at Silverton Mountain is a once in a lifetime experience for most skiers and riders, however if you want to take it up a notch, you can rent the entire mountain by the day. With prices ranging between 9,999-$14,000, you and your buddies get the iconic Silverton chair lift all to yourselves.
“If you bring 40 people that’s only $250 a person to have exclusive access to the Silverton guided chairlift terrain.”
If money allows, the mountain will also let you add a heli to the mix for another $900. With hallowed expert terrain, renting Silverton is not ideal for your novice ski friends, so Unofficial Networks will be taking donations for our own employee ski day to help you out.
