It is being reported that a 53-year-old man was found unconscious in a tree well around 2:30 p.m on Saturday afternoon in the Shadows area of Steamboat Resort, Colorado.

The man, identified as Frank Maimone of Philadelphia, apparently fell headfirst into the tree well, according to Routt County Coroner Rob Ryg.

Steamboat Ski Patrol performed CPR and continued to perform CPR all the way to UCHealth Yampa Valley Medical Center in Steamboat Springs, where the man died, Ryg said.

A winter storm dropped 38 inches of new snow on the ski resort since Thursday.
