Heavy Rain And 50° Temps Forces Mad River Glen To Temporarily Close Hill

By

Mad River Glen has announced that they will be suspending operations for the next two days as they let the mountain drain. It a Facebook post, MRG said that high temps and over an inch of rain were a “heavy hit” to the ski hill’s snow coverage.

Mother Nature took a big swing at us and landed a heavy hit. Over an inch of rain and 50-plus degree weather has forced us to suspend operations on the main mountain until more seasonable weather returns. On Monday and Tuesday we will shut down and allow the mountain to drain while the Mountain Operations team begins to patch things back together. We’ll crank up the snowmaking system on Monday in an effort to get things looking wintry around here once again. We will return to skiing on Wednesday with at least the Practice Slope and Callie’s Corner. Please stay tuned to the website as things tend to change rapidly. We appreciate your understanding, support and thank you for your continued patronage! – Mad River Glen

We appreciate that Mad River Glan always gives an honest reporting of conditions. We hope they get a reset soon!
