Mt. Rose near Lake Tahoe is setting an intended opening day of October 25th according to NBC 4.

Mt. Rose boasts the highest base vertical of any resort in the Tahoe area at 8,260 ft. Low temps and snow have allowed Mt. Rose to fire up the snow guns and prepare for an early start. If things work out, Mt. Rose could be open for three weeks before Heavenly, Squaw, and Northstar open in mid-November.

There’s honestly nothing like early-season snow stoke. I think it might actually feel better than being in-season? Maybe that’s too far… Who’s gonna be getting some turns in October? It looks like the West is setting up nicely for early starts across the board.

Here’s a throwback to when Snowbird got hit with a 37″ storm in late October of 2010.
