By

26 year old American beach volleyball player, Heather Friesen, was hiking along Ka’au Crater Trail in Hawaii with friends in 2016 when she slipped and fell 50 feet down a waterfall. The accident was all captured on GoPro and the footage has just been released. She suffered a collapsed lung, ten broken ribs and a fractured scapula. Thankfully she survived the fall and after a long road to recovery she is ready to share her story:

Heather made this instagram post about the incident:

SCARS: We all have them. Sometimes they’re bad memories, and sometimes they’re memories that make us laugh. I added a few extra scars in one of the most terrifying moments of my life, but I’m thankful for the daily reminder of them and knowing that I was protected and made better because of them. • • • But you know whose scars I’m eternally grateful for? My Savior’s. Those hands and feet show the ultimate, incredible, unparalleled love that God has for His children. And without them, I would be lost and ashamed. Jesus paid it all so that we could have it all. Now those are some scars worth talking about. • • • #John3:16 #ThankYouJesus #MyScarsAreNothing #EternallyGrateful 🙌🏼🙏🏼
