Travis Rice's Epic Mission To Film During Total Solar Eclipse

By

“In “A Shot In The Dark,” we follow Travis Rice to Chile for one of his most scenic and formidable adventures yet – snowboarding in front of a total solar eclipse. Rice and renowned photographer Tim Zimmerman connect with local snowboarder Manuel Diaz and heli guide Greg Harms to head into the Andes to scout the region, build a kicker out of sedimentary rock and snow, and wait for totality to chase the photo of their lifetimes.”

Been waiting for this edit to drop for months after bits and pieces were drizzled out on socials. Finally, we have “A Shot In The Dark”, documenting Travis Rice’s epic mission to South America for a super rare opportunity to film a snowboard trick during the totality of a solar eclipse. Won’t give away the ending. Watch all the way through:

Standing at 13.5 thousand feet with @slashdiaz watching the sun disappear up here in Chile was something I won’t soon forget. A ceremony the night before, a shaman told us that a total eclipse has the power of 10 super moons and is a profound time for transition. So, we built a big one. I have never built a jump out of half rocks and snow, but hey, in these high and dry Andes one needs to be resourceful. Going to post up a little edit of our day here shortly. Pretty hard to sum up the experience in words. Just wow… . . . Haters are going to say that UFO bottom left is a lens flare….😎 . #Chileanmoon #Eclipseoftheheart #Lunarcockblock #itsacoverup #shotinthedark #nofilter #blackholesun #holeinthefire #epicfail
