Panorama has been providing cat accessed backcountry style skiing and riding in a zone known as the Monster X Terrain in Taynton Bowl. It’s the biggest terrain in the resort and a big draw for freeskiing enthusiasts. The terrain has a backcountry feel, but it’s both controlled and patrolled so you can ski the chutes, ridges and tree runs with a bit more gusto.

The Monster X snowcat runs on weekends and select dates announced throughout the season.

For next season, phase two of the Monster terrain expansion will be completed. This will include four more backcountry style runs on the east side of Taynton Bowl in a zone dubbed “Where the Wild Things Are.”

The unveiling of the new terrain this season is only the first phase of a mammoth 500 acres expansion plan.

Tickets for a cat ride to the goods will set you back just $15 (11.34 USD). They also sell a 4 pack for $49 as well as a season pass for only $149.

Panorama has also announced that Picnic Cafe and Restaurant ElevenFIFTY will both be undergoing a complete refurbishment with contemporary fittings and new menus.

Looks like this might be the season we finally make it to Panorama.
