Reports of hailstones the size of grapefruits came in from the eastern plains Sunday night begging the question what is the biggest ice chunk to fall from the sky onto Colorado? The state record is 4.5 inches and there are unconfirmed reports of hailstones on Sunday approaching that diameter so we’ll just have to wait and see. 9News reports Sunday’s hailstones caused tons of damage to homes, cars and crops. Thankfully no major injuries were reported.

We are still trying to verify the largest hailstone that fell near Otis in Washington county. We do have a picture that was just over 4" in diameter. The state record is 4.5". See https://t.co/D9uKuZSmhf #cowx #cohail
