On Saturday, a New Jersey man was killed in a ski accident at New York’s Hunter Mountain.
Edward Chu, 24, was skiing at a high rate of speed when he lost control and crashed into a tree on the Rip’s Return intermediate trail.  He was pronounced dead at the scene after the ski patrol and paramedics responded shortly after 2:45pm.
Chu was skiing with his family at the time of the accident.
A 2013 graduate of Watchung Hills Regional High School and a 2017graduate of Seton Hall, Chu is survived by his parents, Daniel and Sue Chu; his brothers, Matthew and Winston, and his maternal grandmother.
Just two weeks ago, Brendan McCue, 27, was also killed in a ski accident at Hunter Mountain. It was reported that McCue had lost control and skidded off trail and struck a rock in the newly constructed trail system at Hunter North, the ski center’s most recent expansion.
McCue was skiing with a group of students he attended college with at the time of the crash.
