In 1997, Austrian ski racer Fritz Strobl won the downhill of downhills with a time that has stood for 20 years. The Hahnenkamm race on Streif piste in Kitzbühel is the most infamous of downhills. The winners go on to a lifetime of praise and respect.  Strobl is of a handful of racers to have twice won the legendary Hahnenkamm downhill (1997 and 2000). He still holds the record time for finishing the full Streif course in 1:51.58, an average speed of 66.4 mph (106.9 km/h).
