In an effort to get more tykes on the hill, Switzerland’s tourism board has collected 12,770 six-day passes from more than 45 resorts across the country and will be raffling them off to young skiers and riders up to 12 years old.
The program, announced yesterday, is called Kids4Free. Families can cash in on this sweet deal by picking a resort (noting carefully how many tickets that resort has made available) and entering its particular lottery.
TheLocal.Ch breaks down the deal:
“The number of passes available at different resorts depends on their size. Once you have chosen your resort, you will be able to see how many passes are being given away there. The Jungfrau ski region in canton Bern, for example, is allocating 300 free passes on the My Switzerland website. As of Wednesday evening, 200 people had signed up for a chance to get one of those passes.”
Interested parties should also take into account each resort’s age restrictions on this page, since many if not most Swiss resorts allow children under 6 to throw down for free.

Entries will be accepted until December 2, and results will be announced by December 7. If you’re planning on getting your paws on some of these passes for the kiddos and need help planning the trip, Unofficial has you covered.
Don’t have a kid to shred with? Well, they’re not for everyone and the interactive map of Switzerland’s ski resorts is still kind of fun to play around with.
