The 2018/2019nski season is getting off to a great start this year as both Colorado and two resorts in the Northeast opened today

Killington, A-Basin, and Sunday River are all operating today and conditions look quality at all three– despite them only having ‘White Ribbons of Death.’ Tomorrow, Loveland opens and Wolf Creek reopens, giving us 5 ski areas operating in the USA this weekend!

LET IT SNOW!

Conditions Report:

Winter starts when The Beast says so and we say it starts today! Our heroic snowmaking team has been working hard in the North Ridge area, and we’re pleased to announce that the first turns at Killington will be made by our Season Pass and Express Card holders on Friday, October 19.

The K-1 Express Gondola will begin loading at 10:00 a.m. with the last ride up available at 3:00 p.m. Skiers and riders will walk down the Peak Walkway to access open terrain in the North Ridge Area before heading back up the Peak Walkway to download the K-1 Express Gondola. The last run down in North Ridge will be at 3:30 p.m.

We anticipate Rime and Reason trails being open for skiing and riding. Look for an early season terrain park setup on Reason by Saturday.

Base Depth — 10″ | New Snow — 3″

Conditions Report:

Thanks to the work of the Sunday River snowmaking team and our increased snowmaking capacity this year, we opened for the 2018-19 winter season today, October 19 at 10AM.

We’re skiing upper Locke Mountain today on Upper Sunday Punch and T2with lift service from the Locke Mountain Triple mid-station and downloading back down to the base at the end of the day. You can expect variable snow conditions with a bit of grooming on T2 and ungroomed terrain on Upper Punch.

For the weekend, expect the same open terrain and the Locke Triple to run from 9AM to 3:30PM. T2 will be groomed in the morning, and Upper Punch left ungroomed. From this point forward we plan to be on our early-season operating plan with lift service on weekends only, weather permitting, into early November. As always, stay tuned here for the latest.
