The Douglas County Sheriff’s office is seeking public help to identify a couple who used bear spray in a robbery at a Lake Tahoe casino. The incident occurred on August, 21 at the Hard Rock Casino in Stateline, Nevada.
“the female met the victim on the casino floor and went with him to his hotel room. She then left the room to get her “uncle,” who she said was sleeping in a vehicle. The “uncle” and female went back to the victim’s room, where the victim was assaulted and sprayed with Bear repellent. The robbers took about $2,300 dollars in cash from the victim” – Kolo TV
Surveillance footage shows the couple exiting the casino with the male suspect appearing to wear a backpack. They headed towards the California state line which is approximately 1/4 mile from the casino. T
One might think that bear spray is particularly potent against humans. Conventional logic would suggest that if it is effective against a large bear, it is even more devastating to a human. According to Self Defense Ninja, bear spray is actually less effective against humans than pepper spray as it has a lower concentration of oleoresin capsicum. That said, getting blasted with bear spray is still plenty effective in ruining your day, especially as your being robbed.
