Just when you thought you had seen every iteration of a bicycle this dude shows up with a concept that will stop you dead in your tracks. Project CeramicSpeed DrivEn aimed for a practical 99% efficient drive train and didn’t miss their mark.
The CeramicSpeed won an award at The Euro Bike Show 2018 and there has been about a million articles written about it in the past 4 days…here’s the cliffnotes: Its a driven 13-speed pinion drive shaft concept, which swaps derailleurs and chains for a drive shaft that it claims provides 49% less friction with a near 99% efficient drivetrain.
