The mythical white slopes of Aspen are coming to a theatre near you this fall as Variety reported this morning that Steven Spielberg will direct the long-awaited sequel to the ski classic– Aspen Extreme.

Aspen Extreme 2, ‘The Story Of Dexter Rutecki Jr,’ will feature Oscar nominee and international heart throb, Ryan Gosling as Dexter Rutecki’s estranged son and love child with Tina, the cocaine snorting girlfriend from the first movie.

Paul Gross, who played the lead role in the original film by Patrick Hasburgh, will return as an older, wiser TJ Burke. Burke, now a ski patroller, takes on the role of coach as he prepares Dex’s son to compete in the annual Power 8’s competition.

Love, crevasses in terrain where crevasses don’t exist, and skiing OB all return and as luck would have it– an avalanche montage followed by a gut wrenching 15 minutes of mourning and cocaine will be included in this power packed ski thriller/romance.

Traditionalists will be happy to see familiar faces that include the old ski school director Karl Stall (*Trevor Eve) as well as Robin Hand (*Teri Polo). Robin is married to TJ and continues to be ‘the lady on the radio.’ The younger generation will be treated to Gosling antics as well Dex Jr.’s love interests that include Jennifer Lawrence (*the good one) and Margot Robbie (*the rich one).
