A ski area in Idaho is closing its doors after warmer than normal temps made mountain operations untenable reports East Idaho News.

Located in eastern Idaho, Kelly Canyon’s modest slopes saw temps rise into 40’s over the past week and with the meager snowpack that’s melting fast, ski area officials decided to pull the plug on the 2017/2018 season.

“Due to a lack of snow and deteriorating conditions, we are closed for the season. We look forward to the 2018-2019 season and hope for better weather conditions.” – Kelly Canyon

Although their live webcam shows what appears to be decent coverage, the ski area said the weather has made it “nearly impossible to safely run the groomers and to make snow,” which in turn created “unsafe skiing conditions.”
