The Alps are buried in snow following a “once in 30 year” snowstorm. From January 7-9th a winter weather event brought over 2 meters of fresh snow to the town of Staffal. Then, earlier today, the 9th, the road was closed due to avalanche danger. Skiing and riding is out of the question as the avalanche danger is through the roof. Many locals, included Dik Wagener (see video below), are saying the the town now has “too much snow”.

If your able to book a flight to Europe and depart tonight you could be in for some of the best skiing in your life.

For the skiers and riders waiting it out in Staffal we hope they have plenty of booze and a few good boardgames (we recommend Ticket to Ride).
