We’re not going to sugar coat it, the early season in Utah has not been ‘all-time.’ In fact, skiers and riders at Brian Head Resort are so ready for winter, they’ve  been worshiping Ullr with hopes of an eventual return. And with the high pressure ridge across the west gradually breaking down– looks like a blessing might be on its way.

Ullr be damned, Brian Head’s mountain ops are planning to commence 7 day operations starting Friday on a 14″ base of man-made snow. Despite the mild weather, their snowmaking crew has been on point thus far and the amount of terrain is simply remarkable.

“Beginning Friday, December 15th, Brian Head Resort will be open 7 days a week for the winter season through April 15, 2018.”

This week the Park City U16 ski team invaded the mountain to get some training in and when asked how the snow conditions are holding up, head coach Joe Dunn simply replied, “money.”

Expect those crews to continue to open up additional terrain as Utah skiers both north and south pray for a white Christmas to help get things up to speed.
