Mt. Rose Highway is buried under 20 feet of snow after wet weather triggered a slide, shutting down the highway indefinitely.

The slide happened last night just before 9:30am. The highway is closed from Douglas Fir to Fairview in both directions. The closure is probably the first of many as an atmospheric river continues to drop massive amounts of precipitation on the Sierra.
