An avalanche in Summit County, Colorado destroyed a home on Wednesday afternoon. Thankfully the home owners had vacated the cabin due to the high avalanche danger and were not home at the time. The huge slide became known to authorities after two cross-country skiers came across the debris and notified Summit County Police. The cabin is located just south of I-70 and just east of Arapahoe Basin Ski Area. The slide also took out mature timber 60 -70 feet tall.
