brain eating ameba“We highly encourage that that is not the best place to be swimming, and wading and using the water.” –Grand Teton spokeswoman Denise Germann

Testing has confirmed that the single-celled brain eating Naegleria fowleri amoeba has been found at Kelly Warm Spring in Grand Teton National Park and authorities are urging visitors to stay out of the water according to weather.com. Kelly Warm Spring is a popular hangout and park officials have not prohibited swimming but have issued a swim at your own risk advisory. If you do go swimming they warn that you should not let water up your nose.  Please heed their warnings and let your friends know if they are planning to visit the park. brain eating ameba
