A father and son pair of good natured but misguided tourists “rescued” a baby bison from “freezing and dying” inside Yellowstone National Park  by putting the animal in the back of their SUV and driving away with it according to the East Idaho News.

“They sincerely thought they were doing a service and helping that calf by trying to save it from the cold.”

The above photo comes from a woman who was chaperoning a 5th grade class in the park that was approached by the foreign tourists who were demanding to speak with a ranger about the bison in the back of their car.

“They were demanding to speak with a ranger. They were seriously worried that the calf was freezing and dying.”

Once rangers arrived on scene they followed the pair back to where they picked up the animal and released it. The father and son were both ticketed.
