A Massachusetts man is dead following a ski accident at Burke Mountain Ski Area in East Burke, according to the Vermont State Police.
It is being reported that Varter Shirinian, 58, of Watertown was killed at about 3:40 p.m. on Monday after he lost control and struck a tree while skiing on the Big Dipper trail.
Varter was pronounced dead at the scene. He was skiing with a family member at the time of the crash, police said.
