With one ski area in New York shutting down its lifts for good this season, the ski season is over on the east coast right?– Wrong!
Sugarloaf Mountain Resort just got 10″ of extremely light snow and it’s still coming down at Maine’s premier ski resort! Right now, snow is projected through the week and that accumulation should be accompanied by low temps, allowing for some serious snowmaking in addition to the payload being delivered by mother nature on the slopes of the northeast.
“Good morning snow seekers. Your snowdances and powder dreams have been answered; we picked up six inches of new snow overnight here at the base, with reports of as much nine inches of snow at higher elevation. There’s not a breath of wind, and the flakes are still coming down as we speak. It’s just the start of a good old fashioned powder day here at Sugarloaf, with free refills on tap. So, get out of bed, call in sick if you have to, and come ski some light, fluffy good stuff with us.” –Sugarloaf.com
