31 year old Olympic and world giant slalom champion Ted Ligety has reported that he tore the ACL in his right knee during a training run in Wednesday in Oberjoch, Germany. He posted this video of the crash on his Facebook page:

This is his comment on the video:

“We all know ski racing is a dangerous sport but I always thought I could avoid a season ender. Unfortunately today I tore my ACL GS training and am heading home.”

Ligety is one of our favorites and we hope him a speedy recovery.
